Dubai: An Asian man has been arrested in Kuwait after being found guilty of setting a huge fire at Souq Mubarakiya mill last Wednesday and robbing KD9,000, local media reported.

Kuwait Fire Force said intensive investigations showed the fire was started deliberately, and the interior ministry was informed accordingly. “The fire investigations unit works round the clock with experienced personnel who are equipped with all the necessary equipment to determine the causes of the fire,” the Fire Force said.

According to the interior ministry’s report, a person was seen in the basement for more than three hours, and after he left, the fire started. Capital governorate detectives were able to identify the suspect’s identity – an Asian who works at the mill, and found KD9,000 at his residence.
