Cairo: Kuwait’s civil aviation authorities said Monday that they will allow Egypt’s national carrier to temporarily operate flights to transport foreign residents in the Gulf country to Cairo.

A daily flight will take place starting from Wednesday until March 30, Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) added, according to Al Rai newspaper.

The step comes in response to a request from Egypt,it said.

“The Kuwaiti authorities have granted EgyptAir the right to commercial operation of one daily flight for a week [to transport] residents in Kuwait wishing to depart to Egypt,” DGCA said. There was no immediate comment from Egyptian authorities.
