Dubai: The alarming rise of active coronavirus cases in Bahrain continued today with the Ministry of Health reporting 721 new infections, along with one death.
The ministry said it conducted 12,694 tests, and the new active cases included 106 expatriate workers, 613 contacts of active cases, and two travel-related cases. Their detection brought the total active cases in the Kingdom to 6,414, and to 60,307 overall since the first case was reported in February.
Currently, 115 of the active cases are receiving treatment, with 29 in critical condition. There were also 489 additional recoveries, raising the number of discharged to 53,681. The single death today was of a 64-year-old male citizen, whose passing brought Bahrain’s virus-related casualties to 212. The total tests conducted increased to 1,252,898.
