11 elderly dead in Russian nursing home fire

Moscow: Eleven people were killed in a fire that broke out overnight in a home for the elderly in the region of Bashkortostan in central Russia, investigators said Tuesday.

Russia's Investigative Committee, which probes major crimes, said it had opened a criminal investigation into negligence.
