Search on for missing beauty queen in the Philippines
Manila: Catherine Camilon, a Filipina beauty queen who participated in Miss Grand Philippines 2023, was driving her car on October 12 and was expected to meet someone at a gas station.
That was the last thing her family knew about her. For the past days, she has made no contact with her family, and local authorities are still pursuing leads, according to latest local media reports.
Her mother shared, "She informed us that she was waiting for her companion at a gas station in Bauan, Batangas," but the family couldn't recall the name of the individual Catherine was supposed to meet. Following this phone call, Catherine's phone was switched off, and her family couldn't reach her.
Catherine's mother, Rosario, emphasised that Catherine had always been diligent about updating them on her whereabouts, saying, "There was never a day when she didn't tell me where she was."
The local police attempted to review the CCTV cameras at the gas station where she was waiting on October 12, but, unfortunately, the cameras weren't functioning.
In their quest for answers, the Camilon family has reached out to the public for assistance. Catherine's sister, Chin-chin, posted on Facebook, "We will never stop until you are found. We are looking for you, and you know that."
Catherine represented Batangas in the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant, held in July, and she is also a dedicated public school teacher.
