  • The country’s strategic location means it can leverage opportuntities for growth, says former Prime Minister H.E. Shaukat Aziz

Why is leadership important whether you are in the government or in the business?

Leadership is important in everything you do. The pace of innovation and disruption is accelerating and things are changing very fast.

Institutions like the ABLF are catalysts for globalisation, to meet, share and exchange knowledge and best practices from across the world.

So dealing with change is one of the key success factors in the future and leaders are those who can adapt to change, who can influence change, be creative, and be innovative.

Pakistan is located at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. How can it leverage its diverse resources, and untapped prospects for sustainable development?

To be fair, Pakistan has had a good run since independence. But every country in the world has cycles of various types, but if you look at it directionally, this is the way that countries progress. No one is immune to challenges. I have always been an optimist about Pakistan.

Today, I am encouraged by what the new government is doing there. Strategically Pakistan’s position on the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East is unique. So as time passes and as the world integrates and the region integrates, Pakistan can leverage this opportunity to achieve its true potential.
