The grandpa from YouTube's 'Grandpa Kitchen' died, he had over 6 million subscribers
"This is your grandpa!"
A toothy grin, a handlebar moustache, and lots of love through food - this is what viewers remember about 'Grandpa Kitchen'. Showing millions of people how to cook with the most basic of facilities and ingredients, Narayana Reddy or Grandpa cooked for the masses. He fed dozens of orphan children with his simple yet satisfying-to-watch recipes and cooking tricks.
In a video posted on October 30, Reddy's followers were informed of his demise.
From giant oreo cakes and puddings to KFC-style fried chicken, lamb biriyani and a giant vegan pizza, Grandpa did it all for the camera in a luscious, most non-kitchen-like environment. He also had a Facebook page with over half a million followers.
What endeared him to the masses was not just Reddy's cooking, but the fact that all the video proceeds went to helping the children he cooked for. "We entertain people by cooking food and donate the proceeds to charities. Our goal is to provide basic necessities like food, clothing, school supplies and birthday gifts to the orphans." - the Patreon page of his channel reads.
