Delhi: Indian minister of state for railways, Suresh Angadi, died of COVID-19 complications, regional media reported on Wednesday evening. The minister had been hospitalised earlier during the day and had tested positive for the virus around a month ago. He reportedly said at the time that he was asymptomatic.
Indian PM Narendra Modi posted a tweet remembering Angadi and said, "Shri Suresh Angadi was an exceptional Karyakarta, who worked hard to make the Party strong in Karnataka. He was a dedicated MP and effective Minister, admired across the spectrum. His demise is saddening. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this sad hour. Om Shanti."
