Mumbai Airport Customs seizes cocaine

Passenger arrived from Addis Ababa on Ethiopian Airlines

Mumbai: Mumbai Airport Customs on Monday seized 980 grams of Cocaine worth Rs 9.8 crores (Rs98 million, or $1.2 million) from a passenger who arrived by Ethiopian Airlines flight ET-610 from Addis Ababa, said customs.

The contraband was concealed in the undergarments, added the customs. The passenger has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

Arrest in Goa

On October 2, Goa's Mapusa Police arrested a man, and recovered 11 grams cocaine, police said on Saturday. The man from Belgavi, Karnataka, was found with 11 grams of cocaine, worth about Rs1 lakh (Rs100,000, $1,225).

According to the official report, PSI Bablo S Parab stated on Saturday at New Bus Terminus, Mapusa, a narcotics raid was conducted and the accused was caught red handed.

The accused has been identified as a resident of Veerbhadranagar. The team was led by PI Paresh Naik under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa, Jiviba Dalvi. 11 grams of cocaine was seized and a case under section 21 (b) of NDPS Act has been registered
