Hyderabad: A man, who was caught by police for drink-driving, created a stir by climbing up a transmission tower and threatening to commit suicide.
The incident occurred in Shahabad town in Karnataka bordering Telangana.
Police Inspector of Shahabad D Ashok told the media that 35-year-old Naresh climbed the tower and walked on the high-tension wire.
“However he was not harmed as the tower was under construction and there was no electricity. If the lines were functional he would be burnt completely”, Ashok said.
Police brought him down promising that his motorcycle would be returned to him. Police had seized the vehicle as he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
