India: 18-year-old dies as AC unit falls from second floor while talking with friend
The CCTV footage shows the two friends hugging each other before the incident
New Delhi: An 18-year-old boy died after an outdoor air conditioner unit fell on him while he was standing on the road with his friend in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi on Saturday, police said.
According to the police, at around 7pm on Saturday, within the Desh Bandhu Gupta police station limits, the outdoor unit of an AC fell from the second floor onto two boys who were standing on the road having a conversation.
Following the incident, the injured boys were taken to a nearby hospital, where Jitesh (18), a resident of Doriwalan, Delhi, was declared brought dead. The second person, Pranshu (17), a resident of Patel Nagar, Delhi, was admitted to the hospital.
A case has been registered under relevant sections, and a forensic team has examined the scene. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
