Russia at UN accuses US of 'coup' attempt in Venezuela

Russia sought Saturday to block a United Nations Security Council meeting on Venezuela, accusing the United States of plotting a coup against President Nicolas Maduro.

Its bid quickly failed, with nine of the 15 Security Council members agreeing to hold the session attended by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
