Ethiopian Airline's ET 302 black box recovered

Local media report that black box from crashed Boeing 737 has been recovered

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia: Ethiopian state-affiliated broadcaster reports that black box from crashed plane has been recovered. An airline official, however, said it is "partially damaged."

It is now emerging that the pilot of the ill-fated Ethiopian airlines Flight ET 302, requested to turn back immediately after take-off but crashed before making the move.

Ethiopia's state-affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported that the black box has been found from the crashed Ethiopian Airlines plane.

An airline official told The Associated Press that the box is partially damaged and that "we will see what we can retrieve from it."

The official spoke on condition of anonymity for lack of authorization to speak to the media.

The plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Addis Ababa on Sunday en route to Nairobi.
