Sheikh Mohammed orders Dh12.8 million in bonuses for taxi number plate holders
Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday ordered the payment of bonuses worth a total of Dh12.825 million to Emirati holders of 2,565 taxi number plates.
Government of Dubai Media Office tweeted that Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will begin the distribution of the 2021 bonuses to the entitled recipients, in addition to their annual dues, during Ramadan, which started on Saturday.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the generosity he has shown in extending the bonus to taxi plate owners.
"This bonus is a testament to His Highness’s commitment to ensure the welfare of all segments of the community and enhance their happiness and quality of life. The annual bonus is also one of His Highness’s various social initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The distribution of bonuses will enhance the financial wellbeing of fixed income earners and families from less privileged sections of society,” said Al Tayer.
