Dubai: Veteran Emirati artist Dhaen Juma Al Tamimi, a pioneer in the UAE’s art scene and a significant contributor to the renaissance of Emirati and GCC drama, passed away.

Born in 1949, Dhaen Juma Al Tamimi began his artistic career in 1971. Throughout his illustrious career, he made significant contributions to both theatre and television, establishing himself as a leading figure in the first generation of Emirati artists.

He worked alongside other notable artists such as Sultan Al Shaer, Mohammed Al Janahi, Jaber Naghmoush, and Ahmed Al Jasmi, among others.

Some of his notable dramatic works include “The People of Antar”, “The Neighbours” and “The Shadows of the Past”. His legacy will continue to inspire and shape the landscape of Emirati and Gulf drama.
