Sharjah/Fujairah:One worker died and six others were injured after the car they were travelling in veered off the road and overturned, police said on Monday.

Colonel Ali Saeed Al Jallaf, director of Al Hamriya Police Station, said the accident occurred as the driver tried to avoid colliding with a stray animal on the road.

The incident took place at around 7.45am on Al Hamriyah Umm Al Quwain Road.

Col. Al Jallaf explained that the main reason for the accident, according to the driver’s statement, was his attempt to avoid colliding with one of the stray animals on the road.

The four-wheel drive was carrying seven workers who belonged to the Asian and African nationalities.
