A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable allegedly murdered his live-in partner, a woman police officer, in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Friday night — and then surrendered at the same police station where she was posted.

According to a report by NDTV, the accused, 25-year-old Dileep Dangchia, walked into Anjar Police Station on Saturday morning and confessed to killing Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arunaben Natubhai Jadav, who was serving there.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chaudhary told NDTV that the couple — who had been in a long-term relationship — got into a heated argument at their home in Anjar.

“She allegedly made derogatory comments about his mother, which enraged him. In a fit of anger, he strangled her,” Chaudhary said.

Relationship began on Instagram in 2021

Police said Dileep, currently posted in Manipur with the CRPF, and Arunaben had been in contact since 2021 through Instagram and had been living together. “They were planning to get married,” investigators confirmed.

The case is under investigation.
