Take your mind off COVID-19 by looking at this weird contraption called the 'Benzillac'

Those who think they can improve on the R129’s classy styling end up with a bit of a mess - this one goes far beyond the usual addition of body kits and bigger wheels. Sloan's Custom Body and Paint adopted a far more radical approach when they decided to 'fix' the Mercedes...

By merging the styling of a 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL 320 and a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado, the workshop has built what it calls the 'Benzillac'. They deserve points for the imaginative name, but none for the final outcome... From the front it looks like a regular SL (apart from the hood scoop...) and while the pastel yellow paint looks a little weird, the rear will make your jaw meet the floor! This SL has the tail fins from the classic Caddie not to mention its taillights, a spare wheel cover and it is dripping with chrome trim!

The company, from Portland, Oregon, has stuck a 'limited edition' badge on it - and we hope that means this is extremely limited, you know, like a one of just one...

The interior looks mostly stock and still retains the leather seats and wood trim on the dash and centre console...

But really, the best place for this eye sore is hidden away under a cover... However, if you like this Benzillac then you are in luck; you can buy this car from Craigslist. The seller describes it as offering the "best of both worlds". Yours for $7,500...

But if those fins fall off or it breaks down you better not expect Sloan’s Custom Body and Paint shop to help you in any way because an online search reveals that they are now permanently closed. Hmm, we don’t think COVID-19 is the only reason for this either…
