Wellington: A New Zealand man has been sent to prison for seven months for feeding five live kittens to his pit bull dog.

Te Ahu Aaron Mankelow admitted willfully ill-treating an animal. Mankelow has also been banned from owning or caring for animals for 10 years.

He pleaded guilty after a video showing him urging his dog to kill the kittens was found on his mobile phone.
