Juba: Rebels from Uganda's Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) have killed 23 people, including 14 Sudanese soldiers on the Congo border, a Sudanese official said on Saturday.

South Sudan's Information Minister, Gabriel Changson Chang, said LRA rebels attacked Nabanga village on Wednesday.

"The LRA have started war," he told Reuters. "Southern Sudan will not be the place where they can wage this war."
