Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with the Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal in Damascus on Monday.
The two men discussed efforts to heal the rift between Hamas and the Fatah faction of Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas, the Anatolia news agency said, adding that the Middle East peace process was also on their agenda.
Davutoglu was in Damascus for a one-day visit on Monday, after which he headed to Afghanistan for an international conference on the future of the war-torn country.
