Tehran: Iran has hanged an Iranian businessman convicted of spying for Israel, the judiciary said on Saturday.
In a statement, it said Ali Ashtari was hanged on Monday this week after he confessed to the spying charges.
Ashtari was convicted in June of spying for Israel, according to the Isna news agency.
Iran has tightened security against suspected spies for Israel, the latest of whom was confessed spy Hossain Derakhshan, who was held and interrogated this month.
