Abu Dhabi: The Malaysian Embassy in Abu Dhabi warned the public against international syndicates cheating the job seekers by offering jobs in Malaysia through internet. There have been some cases whereby fraudsters are using names of the reputed Malaysian companies to deceive people, said a statement issued by the Embassy.

The modus operandi is to offer employment with lucrative emoluments usually to be paid in UD Dollar. These syndicates would also provide a letter or certificate from “supposedly” a government official of the Malaysian Government to facilitate visa clearance. Victims would then be requested to make electronic payment to further assist employment processing especially on visa issuance, said the statement.

The embassy requested the public to verify any such job offers with the embassy in Abu Dhabi (Ph. 02-4482775) or Consulate General in Dubai ( 04-3372152).

The statement also warned to beware of any prize redemption schemes, lucky draws or contests offered by Malaysian companies on the internet.

The embassy regrets that the name of Malaysia is being exploited by such unscrupulous syndicate for financial gain from potential victims, said the statement.
