Iranian interior minister presses Pakistan on efforts to battle Sunni militants

Tehran: Iran's interior minister is in Pakistan for talks on efforts to battle a Sunni militant group blamed for a suicide bombing this week that killed top Revolutionary Guard commanders and dozens of others.

Iranian state media says Mostafa Mohammad Najjar is meeting with Pakistani officials to press claims that Jundallah, or Soldiers of God, receives aid in Pakistan. Pakistan denies any government links to the militants.

The attack Sunday killed at least 42 people near the Pakistani border. The victims included 15 members of the powerful Revolutionary Guard, including five senior commanders.

It was the deadliest strike by the group, which claims to fight for the rights of the Sunni Baluchi tribes against Iran's Shiite authorities.
