Aden, Yemen: Al Qaida militants are believed to have carried out an attack on an oil pipeline in Yemen on Tuesday, a local security official said.

The blast on the pipeline taking crude oil to an export terminal on the Arabian Sea was caused by a timed device, the official told Reuters.

He also confirmed comments from a second Yemeni official that the pipeline was operated by a South Korean firm.
