Cairo: As Saudi Arabia edges closer to its summer, meteorologists are warning of unstable weather conditions in the coming weeks, including active winds and rainfall across multiple regions.

Aqeel Al Aqeel, a weather analyst at the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), said summer is officially just 42 days away, but fluctuations are already being observed.

“This period will witness widespread weather changes, especially active winds and rainfall in several parts of the kingdom,” he told Al Ekhbariya TV.

He urged the public to stay updated with the latest forecasts. Rainfall is expected to continue in central Saudi Arabia through Monday, with showers likely to extend to Medina in the west, Al Qassim in the center, hail in the northwest, and parts of the northeast.

Forecasts also indicate rain over the Sarawat Mountains, the highest mountain range in Saudi Arabia, stretching along the western Arabian Peninsula.

For today, the NCM forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms with the potential for flooding, hail, and dust-raising winds across Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, Al Qassim, and Hail.
