Saudis intercept ballistic missile fired by Al Houthis

RIYADH: Saudi Royal Air Defence forces have intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Al Houthis from Imran in Yemen towards Saudi city of Jazan.

Colonel Turki Al Maliki, spokesman of Arab coalition, fighting for legitimacy in Yemen, said on Saturday, the was missile was fired by Al Houthis to target civilian and populated areas, but the Saudi Royal Air Defence forces intercepted and destroyed it.

Colonel Al Maliki, quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, said that no casualties were reported in the incident.

This hostile act by Al Houthi militia proves that the Iranian regime is continuously supporting the militia with qualitative capabilities in clear and explicit defiance of UN resolutions No 2216 and 2231. Such acts are aimed at threatening the Saudi, regional and international security, Al Maliki said.

He said firing of ballistic missiles at populated cities and villages is contrary to international laws.
