Abu Dhabi: Two Saudi men who posed as policemen and defrauded people of SR10,000 (Dh9,789) were arrested and remanded in police custody, Lt Colonel Badr Al Suhaibani, spokesperson of the Al Qasim Police said.
Al Suhaibani added the duo also assaulted people verbally and physically as they pretended to enforce COVID-19 protocols.
The men were arrested as the Al Qasim Police continued to follow up on the implementation of the precautionary measures to stem the spread of coronavirus pandemic and to catch violators of the regulation meant to limiting gatherings, monitor abidance by wearing mask and keep social distancing across the station’s area of jurisdiction, Al Suhaibani said.
