Abu Dhabi: The Saudi search and rescue teams in Madinah rescued a Sudanese resident who was drowning while swimming in Yanbu (Al Ayqa).
Media spokesman for the border guards command in Madinah Lt. Col. Mesfer Bin Ghanem Al Quraini, explained that the search and rescue squad present at the site noticed that the resident was drowning, and immediately intervened to save him.

The Sudanese was then discharged in good health from the hospital, Lt. Col. Al Quraini said.
Cautioning the public to be aware of strong currents in the area, the spokesperson called on all sea-goers to follow safety procedures, and to not hesitate to call the border guard emergency phone number (994) to ask for help if faced with an emergency situation.
