Saudi Arabia: Thunderstorm kills several members of family

Cairo: Four members of a Saudi family died after they were struck by a thunderstorm while on a picnic, according to the news porter Sabq.

The incident took place in the governorate of Al Ardyat in south-western Saudi Arabia that was lashed by heavy, thunderous rains Friday night, according to the report.

The family – a husband, a wife and four daughters – had gone out on an excursion on Friday. But they were struck by a thunderstorm that killed the two spouses and two daughters. The two others survived.
