Saudi Arabia issues commemorative falconry stamp ahead of major event

Cairo: Saudi postal authorities have issued a commemorative stamp on falconry, a major part of Saudi heritage.

The 3 riyal stamp features some famous falcons and is issued in coordination with the Saudi Falconry Club.

The issuance comes months before the launch of the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, a major annual cultural event in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this week, the Saudi Falconry Club said that the third edition of the festival will be held on November 28 upon directives of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The event, the world’s biggest falconry festival, usually draws falcon owners and fans in the kingdom and other Gulf countries. Falconry is a popular hobby and an essential part of cultural heritage in the Arabian Peninsula.
