Cairo: Police in the Saudi holy city of Mecca had arrested a person suspected of setting several cars on fire, the online newspaper Sabq has reported.
The arrest came after police had been alerted that blazes had hit three cars in the city on Saturday. The fires were put out as the city's security agencies inspected the sites of the incidents and conducted investigations, according to the report.
On-site inspections showed that the three cars were vandalised with their window glass smashed and the vehicles torched from inside.
Hours later, security agencies identified and arrested the suspect who is in custody pending questioning. The motive for the attacks in not clear yet.
