Cairo: Saudi authorities have confiscated 2,500kg of rotten poultry from a makeshift storage facility in Riyadh, where a Saudi citizen and illegal residents were repackaging spoiled meat for sale.

The suspects allegedly used household disinfectants to mask signs of spoilage, including discoloration and foul odors, before relabelling the products with fake brand names and forged production dates.

More than 100,000 counterfeit labels were seized during the raid on the rest house, conducted by commerce monitoring teams in coordination with security agencies.

Gang busted over tyre thefts

In a separate case, Saudi police arrested five individuals for stealing tyres from parked cars in Riyadh and selling them through a designated warehouse. The suspects include a foreign border law violator, two Yemeni residents, and two Saudi citizens.

Authorities have referred them to public prosecution as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal activities across the kingdom.
