Cairo: At least four more cinema houses will open in Saudi Arabia in the next few months, according to an official.

Spokesman for the Saudi General Commission for Audiovisual Media Omar Abu Bakr said he expects cinemas will debut later this year and in the first quarter of 2022 in the Saudi cities of Najran, Arar, Ihssa and Yanbu.

By the end of next year, there will be around 70 cinemas operating across the kingdom, the official told Saudi state television Al Ekhbariya.

Last January, a drive-in cinema was launched in the capital Riyadh.
