Police in Oman arrest 45 infiltrators

Muscat: Mounted police arrested 23 Pakistani infiltrators, trying to get off a boat, from Sawadi area in Birka 100km north to Muscat, according to a press release from Royal Oman Police (ROP).

The police also arrested 22 other illegal residents, mostly from Bangladesh, in a raid in Sarooj area.

"The infiltrators are largely involved in criminal activities therefore we request every citizen and resident in the county to help police nab them," a spokesman for ROP said. He urged citizens and residents not to provide employment or accommodation to illegal residents in the country.
