Oman's national carrier to fly to 16 destinations

Cairo: Oman’s state airline, Oman Air, will operate scheduled flights with 16 destinations as of October 1 when the sultanate resumes international flights.

In the first operational phase, the national carrier will fly to 16 cities in 12 countries, Omani online newspaper Shabiba reported Wednesday.

They include flights between Muscat and London, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Dubai, Doha, Cairo, Dar es-Salam, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Lahore and Islamabad, the report said.

The airline will add further flights to its schedule soon.

Locally, the carrier will continue to operate its scheduled flights to the Omani state of Khasab.

In late March, Oman suspended international and domestic flights as part of a raft of measures aimed to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.
