Omani pupil killed in accident

Muscat: An Omani student was killed and eight other pupils were injured when a schoolbus collided with a car on Wednesday in Birka, about 100-km north to Muscat, according to a Royal Oman Police (ROP) press release.

The driver of the school was also injured.

“The collision took place at the Al Numan cross road in Birka town,” a spokesman for the ROP’s Public Relations Department said.

The injured were rushed to Rustaq Hospital while those with slightly serious injuries were rushed to Khoula Hospital in Muscat.

The spokesman appealed to all road users to be cautious and pay attention on the roads for their own safety and safety of others.
