Muscat: Oman plans to halve illiteracy levels by 2015 through ambitious initiatives that include the rollout of 'Literate Village' and 'Literate Province' campaigns at the national level.
Education Minister Yahya Bin Saud Al Sulaimi told the Oman Arabic newspaper that the new initiatives would help build on the ministry's successes in bringing about the gradual eradication of illiteracy.
