Muscat: One more English FM radio station will start its broadcast soon, according to a press release issued by the Sabco Media on Sunday.

The Sabco Media's new FM radio station will be known as Merge and will be available on 104.8 FM frequencies.

The company has, however, not revealed details of the new radio station, which is expected to go on air in next few weeks. Sabco Media has confirmed that Merge 104.8 will reflect the diverse cultures and tastes of Oman's population.

Reaching out to different segments of society, the radio station will offer a mix of music, culture and fun, to deliver rich content and served with a fresh local flavour.

Revealing an exciting schedule of live daily shows from 6am, the radio station has been inspired by the richness and diversity of the Omani society.

A mix of local and international presenters will spur listeners to "tune in to the mix" with the latest music and entertainment presented in a lively, informal style that will appeal to both traditional and contemporary cultures.

"The months of speculation are over. I can confirm that we are currently putting the final touches to Merge 104.8, which is set to challenge Oman's airwaves and deliver a cool, new and exciting vibe to listeners across the region," said Eihab Abutaha, General Manager of Sabco Media, in a statement released here on Monday.

Merge 104.8, which will also be available through web streaming, will use a combination of online and social media.
