Muscat: Oman has set aside funding worth seven million Omani riyals to support projects for women in rural areas, according to Shaikh Salim Bin Hilal Al Khalili, Minister of Agriculture.
He said the country was determined to give opportunities to women in rural society and that details of the fund are still being worked out, but are likely to be released soon.
Arabic daily Shabiba reported that it was created by the High Commission of Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed.
The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministries of Finance and National Economy are working together on the project.
