ROP warns residents to be more cautious as cases of theft increase in the summer

Muscat: Five Omani nationals have been arrested following a theft of thousands of rials worth of gold from a house in Sohar province.

The stolen gold, worth OMR8,000, was recovered from the culprits.

The accused burgled the house when the family was out, according to a statement from the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

After search and investigation, the accused arrested and the stolen gold was recovered from one of the accused houses.

An official at the ROP calls upon nationals and residents to be more cautious, as cases of house thefts increase in summer time.

The official added that many nationals and residents go on vacation in summer, stressing that better not to leave valuables like gold and cash while they away.

The official pointed out that ROP intensifies its patrols especially in areas where such crimes reported.
