Dubai: Legendary Kuwaiti actress Hayat Al Fahad has been admitted to intensive care after suffering a stroke, the Kuwait Union for Artistic and Theatrical Production and Entertainment Industry said in a statement.
The union reported that Al Fahad, 77, was hospitalised following “a sudden health setback” and diagnosed with a stroke after medical tests. Her doctor has prohibited visitors until further notice.
The announcement was also shared on the actress’s official Instagram page, which confirmed she had been admitted to hospital and was receiving specialised care.
Messages of support and prayers for her recovery have flooded social media, with fellow Kuwaiti actors and actresses expressing hope for her swift return to health.
Born in Kuwait in 1948, Al Fahad is regarded as one of the Arab world’s most influential television and stage figures. Her career spans acting, broadcasting, writing, and producing, with celebrated credits including the beloved television series Khalti Qumasha, Ruqiya wa Sabika, Jarh Al Zaman, and ‘Ndama Tu’Gany Al Zuho.
