Gulf Air flight lands safely in Kuwait after bomb threat

Dubai: A Gulf Air flight en route to Kuwait International Airport landed safely on Sunday following a reported bomb threat, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Kuwait confirmed.

Flight GF213 underwent a full security inspection upon landing. All passengers were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported, the DGCA said in an official statement.

DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al Madani stated that all passengers were moved to a designated lounge and are in good condition.

Precautionary security procedures were carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior to ensure the safety of passengers and crew, and to confirm the aircraft was free of any threat.

Security measures and investigation

"The report was immediately addressed in accordance with security procedures and protocols at Kuwait International Airport, in full coordination with the Ministry of Interior and relevant authorities," the DGCA said on its social media platforms.

Established emergency protocols were swiftly activated following the plane’s arrival. Security teams cleared the aircraft, and passengers were safely disembarked as precautionary measures were carried out.

Authorities confirmed the person responsible for the false threat has been identified and taken into custody. Legal and security actions are ongoing against the suspect.
