COVID-19: Kuwait announces 151 new cases, 1 fatality

Cairo: Kuwait Thursday announced one more death from the COVID-19, raising to 14 the total such fatalities in the country, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported. The fatality was a 41-year-old Kuwaiti man who was in intensive care.

The Health Ministry also confirmed 151 new coronavirus cases, bringing to 2,399 the country’s infection tally, spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said.

The new diagnosed cases include 132 in contact with previously infected people and 12 others linked to travel abroad, the official said. The other seven cases are being investigated for the source of contagion, he added in an update.

Kuwaiti Health Minister Sheikh Basil Al Sabah, meanwhile, said that 55 more patients have recovered from COVID-19, taking the total recoveries in the country to 498.
