Investigations revealed that the defendants had planned to blow up a Bahraini pipeline and a police patrol. A group of them were tasked by the main defendants in Iran to monitor vital sites in Bahrain, including banks, with the aim of attacking them. Others were assigned filming terror attacks and propagating them online.
In 2018, Bahraini security forces foiled an attempt to blow up an oil pipeline after two of the defendants in the group had planted an explosive device near the facility and planned a remote-controlled detonation.
