A group of University of Bahrain students gathered in front of the Kuwaiti embassy in Manama on Friday afternoon to demand an investigation into the death of their friend who was shot dead during a gun battle between the police and militants in Kuwait last week.

Protesters also called on the Bahraini government to press for a clarification over the allegations that Mahmoud Abdul Aziz Abdullah was shot by a Kuwaiti sniper by mistake when he tried to look out of the window after hearing the gun shots.

"We condemn the terrorist attacks being carried out in Kuwait. But, at the same time, we want the Kuwaiti authorities to identify the person who shot Mahmoud and have him punished," said Sadiq Al Shabani, one of the protest organisers.
