Manama: A restaurant in the Bahraini capital Manama was damaged in a blast, the Ministry of Interior posted on its Twitter account.
The ministry said that the explosion early on Thursday was due to a gas leak. No injuries were reported, but several shops and cars in the area were damaged.
The necessary steps are being taken to deal with the incident, the ministry said. The explosion occurred in a back alley of the old souq where several small restaurants operated by foreigners serve Bangladeshi and Indian food.
