Bahrain: 2 Asians nabbed for posing as police

Cairo: Bahraini police have arrested two Asian men for posing as policemen and attacking a third for money, the chief of the General Directorate for Criminal Investigations said Friday.

The two suspects had kidnapped the victim in a private car and ordered him to pay a sum of money. When he refused, they beat him up and robbed him of money and his mobile phone, the police official added, according to Bahraini daily Al Bilad.

The culprits were identified and the car used in the incident was located. After their arrest, the victim identified them.

"Legal procedures have been taken and the case referred to public prosecution," the official said.
