Bangkok: A Thai court has issued a second arrest warrant for deposed leader Thaksin Shinawatra, who recently fled to London to escape a string of corruption cases at home.
The Supreme Court issued the warrant Tuesday when Thaksin failed to appear in court to acknowledge charges against him in one of four pending corruption cases.
Thaksin fled the country for London July 31.
A first warrant was issued after his departure in connection with a separate case.
Thaksin was ousted from power in a 2006 coup after massive anti-government street protests demanded his resignation.
