Seoul: South Korea will start quarantine inspections on US beef, which will lead to a full resumption of American beef imports next week for the first time in more than four years.
The announcement was made by its farm ministry on Thursday.
South Korea, once the third-largest importer of US beef until a 2003 outbreak of mad cow disease in the United States, had delayed the resumption of quarantine inspectations from May 15 due to mounting public safety concerns over the US product.
